Henley Classic Wild Swim

Training had been tough going for Stella and her daughter Lily as they prepared for their 2.1k endurance event on Sunday. They have been going down to the lake a few times a week at the crack of dawn to practice swimming in a big group (a shoal if you will). Thinking of Thomas has been a great motivator! Bless you both for taking on such a tough challenge. We adore you! Well done for raising a wonderful £715 for Thomas’ surgery and post operative therapy!

Flo Fest 2017

We had a stall at this wonderful local event today. Big congratulations to the organisers for putting on such a fab event! Great atmosphere all day, and with our stand we raised £275 towards our fund for Thomas. It was also a wonderful opportunity to catch up with all the lovely people in the community who are clearly following our journey.

A huge thank you too, to our friends Katia and Lucia who helped us run the stand for the day.

Back again to Footsteps for 3 whole weeks!

Today was the last day of our 3 week session at Footsteps. Thomas is tired. He has worked so hard on his walking pattern. We are so lucky with the physiotherapists we have that work with Thomas, they are so motivating and so much fun.

Here he is working on the treadmill and his walking pattern. There is so much to learning how to walk strongly … from learning how to kick from the toe, to land on the heel, while also remembering to lock the knee, to bend the knee only then to repeat it with the other leg. None of this is automatic for Thomas, he has to learn the skill over and over again. Once he has, it’s there but it has to be taught and taught well. We take soooo much for granted.

Now, we rest for the weekend and have a few days off as a family before heading to Bristol for the SDR assessment next Friday…

Run Jericho 1 mile

Last Sunday Jonah and Vita, with their mummy Judith , completed a 1 mile race through Worcester College and the streets of Jericho to help raise money for Thomas’ physiotherapy. They are only 6 years old! Well done on raising £502 guys.

Thank you so much.

Penzance to Padstow (P2P)

In a few weeks time my brother Peter will be heading to the coast of Cornwall to walk 100 miles from Penzance to Padstow in aid of Thomas’ campaign. It’s going to be a challenge as the terrain is tricky and they only have 5 days to complete the distance. He has been training hard though and has raised over £2,000!

We shall be there at the end of the walk to celebrate such a fantastic achievement!

Thank you dearest brother x
